PMVC is the short form for Programmable MIDI Voltage Controller, a device also known as MIDI-CV interface.
In fact, this project is forked off the MiK-one synthesizer project being an improved version of the control electronics of this synthesizer. Currently, no details about the PMVC are available here, and it will not yet get a DIY project, but might be an inspiration for others. Maybe it sees the market somewhen :)
For the features:
- 7 MIDI-Interfaces (3 In/Out/Thru, 2 In/Out, 2 In)
- 72 CV outputs (can also be used as trigger/gate outputs)
- 16 trigger/gate outputs (can also be used as generic switch outputs)
- 8 analog inputs for external CVs
- 1kHz update rate
- 16bit DAC for all CV outputs
- 16 microcontrollers working together
- expandable overall design
- extremely flexible software to control eveything
Currently, the user interface is under development, which is a very complex task, as all the flexibility of the device has to be mapped to an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
For some first impressions, i collected some videos and audio tests here and some photos here.
