Welcome to my site about my DIY projects

Here, you will find a growing collection of documentation about my hobby projects, most of them are some sort of music electronics, sometimes, a development tool or so also can appear here.

It was a bad idea to publish incomplete stuff. And it was an even worse idea to make stuff open source. It seems to get interpreted in a way that i would implement all the detailed wishes of others without any real compensation.
It just opened my eyes - i will work on my DIY projects on my own and maybe publish the completed results. What i'm currently seeing converts a DIY project started for my personal fun to nothing else than work for others. If the own creativity gets replaced by others' wishes, the motivation for DIY gets completely lost.

One more important thing: I don't sell any products resulting from my projects, as on one side they would get extremely expensive as usually, all this is quite a lot of work, on the other hand i would need to register some business for this which also produces administrative overhead, which again reduces the time i don't have even now. So any questions about this will be silently ignored.

Sorry to everyone who gave me positive feedback, but the negative experience weights much more meanwhile.

From now on, i will no longer respond to mails from people i don't know personally.

Some links on those pages don't work and give you permission error messages. This is due to the deactivation of most of the pages that led to the most annoying questions. As this is just a temporary solution, i didn't change the links yet.

Projects

  • My DIY-Projects - there is much work to do - nearly no documentation available currently.
  • B-Control, the knobs/fader boxes from Behringer and a tool i wrote to configure them more efficient.
  • Korg Poly-61 restoration - from complete trash to like-new condition, at least technically. I just replaced a lot of connector contacts and all user panel buttons and the synth works like fresh from the shop.
  • During the migration of this documentation to the new system, i created a new page about the Korg Poly-61 Boards so far. Also look at the articles, where nearly everything is already migrated.
  • Repairs - a bunch of photos from the stuff i repaired so far - no stories around currently, but maybe an impression about how much work goes into the machines sometimes.
As some of my DIY projects are influenced by the hype of friends or so, i don't report too much about current projects, otherwise it could lead me into the situation that i have too much started projects around which might never find an end :) This is also the reason why my web sites usually are permanently under construction - they have extremely low priority.

Due to some bad experience in the past, i want to say that i no longer will respond to all questions directed to me. This doesn't mean you may not ask me, but in advance, please make sure, you have enough know-how about what you are going to ask and also make sure, you used the internet search engines to try to find the answer. I really can't help all the world with sometimes really stupid questions. Be aware that it doesn't make sense to try to build a 1000-parts synthesizer if you don't know Ohm's law and all the other basics.

As more and more users just registered here to ask (sometimes very dumb) questions and then never came back, i disabled the self registration feature. I will soon delete users that have been inactive for a while. Having an account here currently doesn't give you that much more possibilities and it's not intended for asking questions that google (or even the own brain, if available) can answer faster.

If you still want to ask me something, please read my words about Questions. Sure, it's a long text, but i think it's fair that you invest the time, because i also would invest my time on answering your questions.
